In 1994, the Student Loan Marketing Association (Sallie Mae) acquired MPC as part of its diversification strategy in higher education. Sallie Mae, a stockholder-owned corporation, is the country's leading provider of financial services for post-secondary education needs. It is also a major provider of financing to colleges and universities for the facilities and equipment. MPC changed its name to Education Real Estate Services, Inc. (ERESI) in 1997 to reflect our corporate mission of serving educational institutions. Shortly thereafter, ownership was transferred from Sallie Mae to the officers of ERESI necessitating one final name change to Anderson Strickler, LLC. Both prior affiliations and our breadth of experience have resulted in an employee-owned firm with comprehensive experience in addressing the real estate needs of higher education. Anderson Strickler is headquartered in the Washington, DC area and maintains staff at client sites, as appropriate. The staff and its network of industry consultants is skilled in the full range of relevant disciplines including strategic planning, market research, feasibility analysis, facility programming, design and construction administration, financing, marketing, management and operations. Since 1983, we have served over 100 colleges and universities on over 200 assignments throughout the United States and its territories.
