T
hrough our work with colleges and universities since 1983, we are particularly sensitive to the unique concerns and issues they face and have a well-grounded understanding of their organizational structures, methodologies and need for consensus. We blend this understanding with the best of private-sector techniques and efficiencies.

In practice these methodologies are founded on the following four principles:

  • Listen First

Every client's needs are different. While we employ time-tested, rigorous approaches to the analysis of a problem, the information we receive from each client is unique and, consequently, the basis for a unique solution.

  • Develop Consensus

Broad support enhances success. Most projects benefit from an authoritative advocate within the institution for the project to be successful; however, all projects require a broad consensus of support if the final project is to fulfill its potential of meeting the needs of the user—both in the short term and over the life of the project.

  • Know the User

Market research is key. A project with a program based on anecdotal information from non-users has limited possibility for realizing its maximum potential; but, solid market research solicited from potential users results in a program that best suits— economically and functionally—the needs of the users.

  • Develop Solutions That Work

The plan must be implementable and sustainable. A plan that does not result in a project is nothing much, but a project that does not proceed from a plan is nothing at all. We have a proven track record of implementing projects we have planned, facilities that can be efficiently maintained and are ultimately self-renewing.
